Maid of Honor - Jenny Hofler

Womb-mate and best friend for life, Jenny Hofler (Maid of Honor) is Kate's fraternal twin sister. Inseparable as kids, the two teamed up to play practical jokes on the rest of the family and schemed ways to crash teenage sleepovers hosted by their older sister, Julie. Though the two diverged paths when they set off to college---Jenny becoming a Hokie and Kate a Wahoo, Jenny and Kate reunited after college and lived together in Arlington, VA for three years. During her time at Virginia Tech, Jenny worked as an marketing intern for the VA Tech Athletic Department and is still an avid Hokie sports fan. Jenny now works in marketing and graphic design for the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority.

Matron of Honor - Julie Hofler Penland

Kate has always looked up to her older (and much wiser) sister, Julie Hofler Penland (Matron of Honor), following in her footsteps by attending the University of Virginia four years after Julie graduated from UVa. in 2002. After college, Julie worked for CNN for several years before deciding to become a teacher. Julie now teaches in the Fairfax County Public School system working with at-risk youth. In 2006, Julie married Dave Penland (thanks to her matchmaker little sisters!) and in 2008, the couple had their first child, Claire Madison Penland. Kate has enjoyed watching Julie and her new family grow and can only hope to be as wonderful a wife and mother as Julie is!

Bridesmaid - Holly Gilmore

Holly, sister of the groom, recently moved back to Virginia after living in warm and sunny Tampa, FL for several years.  She now currently lives and works in Yorktown, Virginia and  is the wonderful mom to beautiful Isla, who was born in November 2008 and is one of our precious flower girls.  Holly is known in the family for her love of fashion, her sense of style, and her brutal 6 am workouts.  As kids, Holly and Ross shared a love for adventure and weren't afraid to try anything - including the newest roller coasters at the theme parks.  Kate has loved getting to know Holly and has appreciated all of Holly's advice with the wedding and will always remember how much she and Joy helped Ross pull off the marriage proposal!  Ross and Kate are looking forward to having Holly visit them more often in Richmond and maybe her even moving there one day!

Bridesmaid - Joy Gilmore Knighton

Kate is thrilled to have Joy, sister of the groom, as not only her new sister, but also as her new neighbor! Joy recently moved just a few streets away into Ross's neighborhood in Richmond, VA. Kate is looking forward to spending time with Joy trying to make friends among their dogs, Ralphie and Belle, jogging through the neighborhood and babysitting baby John whenever Joy and Chip need a night out! Like the bride and groom, Joy graduated from UVA in 2004 with her Masters in Teaching and is now a Spanish teacher in Henrico Country. In 2007, Joy married Chip Knighton, another Wahoo, and the couple recently had their first child, John, born just this past February.

Bridesmaid - Caroline Gilmore Shea

Caroline, sister of the groom, is affectionately known in the family as "Linus." Caroline and her husband, Timmy, are proud parents to Austin, who was born in October 2009. Caroline is a Louisiana girl, where she grew up and graduated from McNeese State University. The Sheas live in Chesapeake where Caroline works for Chesapeake Public Schools. As a first-grade teacher, Caroline was recognized as the Teacher of the Year for her school and is currently a Media Specialist at Chittum Elementary. Caroline is the cheerleader in the family and did a great job getting little Ross involved in cheer and dance routines she would choreograph over the summers. Thanks to Caroline, there are many priceless family photos and videos of young Ross cheering alongside the girls. Caroline is always smiling and Kate is so happy to have "Sweet Caroline" as one of her bridesmaids.

Bridesmaid - Kelly Graling

Kelly and Kate met during their time at UVA, living together their 4th year of college and sharing many friends and memories together during their four years in Charlottesville. Kate and Kelly have shared many more fun times after college as well, traveling to Fire Island, NY together, visiting Kelly's Aunt and Uncle in Laguna Beach, CA, or just hanging out with friends in DC together. Kelly, a psychology major at UVA, who is now a graduate student at the University of Massachusetts at Boston earning her Master's Degree and PhD. in psychology, has always been a shoulder to lean on and a listening ear to Kate. Their friends always joke that Kelly will one day earn big bucks for all of the guidance they got from her for free!

Bridesmaid - Sarah Lysher

Sarah and Kate met during their very first week of college at UVA, living just a few doors down from each other in their dormitory, Humphreys Hall. The two instantly bonded sharing many new memories together that year and becoming instant running buddies. Sarah and Kate lived together for 2 more years at UVA and Kate is very excited to be reunited with her former roommate down in Richmond, VA where Sarah lives now. Sarah, an Accounting major at the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce, has spent the last four years working at Earnst & Young in Richmond, VA and has recently accepted a new accounting position at Carmax in Richmond as well.

Bridesmaid - Elizabeth Sullivan

Kate met Liz during her very first internship after college at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC. Kate was the intern, Liz was the boss. After Kate accepted a full-time position at CSIS shortly thereafter, the two spent the next several years learning about the "real world" together. Kate can always count on Liz, an adventurist at heart, to play a practical joke on her at the office or to go kayaking or hiking in the summer. Currently, Liz is a graduate student at the Fletcher School of International Affairs at Tufts University, in Boston MA. A native of Sequim, Washington, Liz graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2005. Kate hopes that Liz will stay on the East Coast for good, but she knows that she will always see globetrotting Liz on this coast or another!

Groomsmen

Best Man - Brian Gilmore td>

Ross and Brian have the classic brother relationship. Being less than two years apart (he is younger), they frequently shared friends and similar activities. They grew up both playing basketball and soccer, and funny enough, the family thought Ross (at a very young age!) was going to be the better basketball player . Despite the typical brother quarrels, Ross and Brian always enjoyed hanging out and having a great friendship throughout the years. Although Joy, Brian, and Ross all played sports, Brian got most of the athletic genes, as he is 6'7" and a great athlete. He went to American University on a full scholarship to play basketball where he had a very successful career. Last year Brian played professional basketball in Geneva, Switzerland and is awaiting his next professional contract. This summer, Brian played competitive beach volleyball up and down the East Coast.

Groomsman - Justin Antinarella

Ross and Justin have been friends since middle school when they both played for the same soccer club. Ross and Justin enjoyed many fun times throughout high school, including varsity soccer, student council association, and computer science 101. Justin went to college at JMU, but both kept in touch and still see each other frequently. Justin currently lives in Arlington and is working as a software developer. His maturity level is still that of when Ross met him in middle school.

Groomsman - Jay Kilby

Ross and Jay met at UVA during 1st year, as they both joined the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and lived together on 1100 Wertland Street for their 3rd and 4th years of college. Jay helped coin our house the 'LD House', and is largely responsible for all the other antics that went on during college. Despite Ross' objections, Jay moved back to Roanoke after college and is working in Real Estate. Jay just recently married in May to his beautiful wife, Jessica, and can't wait to start his family with her.

Groomsman - Alex McCarthy

Ross and Alex also met at UVA their 1st year. Alex was also in Phi Kappa Psi, but he did not live in the LD House until his 4th year. Alex is largely responsible for helping Ross finish the Marine Corps Marathon in October of 2009, running the last 6 miles and pushing him. In November, they both will be running in the New York City Marathon, although this time they will both be complaining like little girls for the last 6 miles. Alex is from Chapel Hill, and actually went to the same high school in North Carolina as Ross' Dad. Alex wanted bigger and better things after college and moved to New York City - the only member of the LD House to really branch out. He is now working as a consultant for software company and is traveling all around America.

Groomsman - Beau Ordemann

Ross and Beau met first year at Club Soccer tryouts. After the Club Soccer initiation night, the two became best of friends. Beau also made the terrible decision to join Phi Kappa Psi, was in the Engineering school with Ross, and lived in the LD House for his 3rd and 4th year. Beau is from New Orleans and currently lives in Baltimore and has been working in the field of Internet and mobile advertising. Yes, he helps design those annoying ad's that ask you to hit the moving monkey. Beau is hoping to eventually move back to New Orleans, although we're all trying to prevent it.

Groomsman - Justin Spradlin

Ross and Sprad met in High School in Computer Science 101. Ross was a Freshman and Sprad was a Junior. Together with Baggio, they experienced one of the best classs of all time in high school and little did anyone know it spawned 3 successful computer careers. Sprad also spearheaded the most successful student council campaign "G.A.S. (Gilmore, Antinarella, Spradlin) – We don't stink." Sprad was also on the Varsity Soccer team his senior year, and went from being the 3rd string goalkeeper to becoming the team MVP. Sprad went to JMU with Baggio, but frequently visited UVA - actually most of our friends who met him at UVA were convinced he went to school there. Sprad is now living in Arlington, VA, with his girlfriend Katie. He just started a new job as a software engineer.

Groomsman - Tyler Stall

Ross and Tyler lived just doors apart in the Page dorm (1st Right) and met on the first day of college. Tyler also joined Phi Kappa Psi, although I'm not sure he ever paid dues. Ross and Tyler lived together in a great apartment off Rugby Road 2nd year, and then lived together in the LD House for the next two years. After graduating from UVA, Tyler went to Eastern Virginia Medical School. He graduated in May and is now a Resident in Plastic Surgery in Kansas City. He is engaged and living with his Fiancé, Emily, who is also graduated from EVMS and is a Resident in Kansas City as well. We're all scared that Tyler is now a Doctor.

Groomsman - Mark Tessier

Ross and Mark met through Club Soccer their 2nd year at UVA. Mark wasn't cool enough to come to UVA first year, and transferred from the University of Georgia after his freshman year. After living in on-grounds housing with several members of the Men's Basketball team, Mark moved into the LD House for his 3rd and 4th year. It's debatable if he actually lived there, since he rarely left his room. Mark majored in Political Science and Econ and has worked for several different campaigns since graduating. He currently is working on a U. S. Senate race in Louisiana (Vitter). Mark has also turned into a world traveler, visiting most of Asia for several months last year. After this campaign, he plans on returning to Costa Rica for several months and then going to Graduate school where he hopes to meet the love of his life (besides himself)

Flower Girls

Flower Girl - Claire Penland

Claire, daughter of Dave and Julie Penland, is Kate's niece. She is almost 2 years old. The bride is hoping that Claire Madison Penland will make it down the aisle with her, but either way, she is excited to have Claire with her on her big day.

Flower Girl - Isla Childress

Isla, daughter of Holly Gilmore, is one of Ross's nieces. She is almost 2 years old. The bride and groom are excited that little Isla, fashionable and full of personality like her mom, will be with them on their special day.

Flower Girl - Grace Gilmore

Grace, daughter of Grayson and Jen Gilmore, is one of Ross's nieces. She is almost 5 years old. Kate and Ross are excited to have Grace Gilmore as their "senior" flower girl and know that she will look as beautiful as her favorite Disney princesses as she walks down the aisle!

Ring Bearer

Ring Bearer - Henry Gilmore

Henry, son of Grayson and Jen Gilmore, is one of Ross's nephews. He is almost 3 years old. Kate and Ross are excited to have Henry as their ring bearer and know that he will look like a handsome little man in his tuxedo.
